War is, by its very nature, incessant - rarely a lull and never a vacation. Caught in the heart of the raging storm, the soldier is often left yearning for an escape from the torture of the conflict. Christmas in the war-zone was seldom a timeout from these realities. Yet, for faithful Latter-day Saint soldiers, their religious resolve and hope for peace on earth often opened a small window for sharing goodwill toward men.
